How to Get Rich on Any SMP

Every SMP is the same idea. Make money and stay ahead of other players trying to raid you. The methods change a bit between servers but the actual path to being rich almost always comes down to the same three things:

1. Setting up
2. AFK'ing
3. Reinvesting

Setting up

This is the primary thing that depends on the server you play. The setup has to be good to stay ahead later. So find the best farms, spawners or an untapped gem, like an item no one else is selling.

What people ususally go for:

• Spawners
• Cobblestone
• Bamboo
• Sugar cane
• Cactus

Once you've found the main item you wish to grind, you need to set up a farm. This setup has to be hidden between y-8 and y-100 so hackers can't find your base.

With the farm/spawners set up you can begin earning money.

AFK'ing

If your farm runs while you're not at the computer, you're making money while you sleep, work, or do anything else. That's the whole point. Set it up once, let it run.

The longer it runs, the more you have to sell. That's it.

Reinvesting

Either buy more spawners or expand your farm, keep spending money to grow your earnings, it compounds fast.

That's as simple as it gets!

How to actually stay AFK

Most servers have some way to keep you online without getting kicked. The options usually look like:

• An /afk command if the server has one.
• An AFK pool that pushes you in circles so the server thinks you're moving.
• A client or mod with anti-afk.

Things that actually matter

• Don't disconnect. Every minute offline is a minute not earning.
• Run it overnight. Eight hours of sleep is eight hours of free drops.

The loop

Set everything up and then:

1. AFK at your farms
2. Sell everything
3. Reinvest/expand
4. Keep going

Do that for a few weeks and you're among the richest.

Getting rich on a server is less about grinding hard and more about setting things up so they grind for you. AFK farms, a few good spawners, and a habit of reinvesting will get you further than any single big score.
