FAQ

How do payments and renewals work?

How MinecraftAFK bills your plan: card and wallet renewals, failed payments, paying with crypto, invoices, referral credit, legacy prices and promo codes.

You can pay for a plan in two ways, and they renew differently:

  • Card & wallets, through Stripe: cards, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay and more. These renew automatically.
  • Cryptocurrency, through CoinGate. These don't: you pay each period yourself. See Paying with crypto.

SEPA Direct Debit, which the dashboard calls a bank transfer, takes much longer to clear and has a page of its own: Paying with SEPA Direct Debit.

Renewals

A card or wallet plan renews automatically on the same day as your first payment, every month or every year depending on your billing cycle. When that day doesn't exist in a month, it renews on the last day of the month. Billing shows the next date beside your tier, and the Payment method row shows the card or wallet it will be charged to.

If we ever raise the price of the plan you're on, you get at least 30 days' notice before a renewal is charged at the new price, and you can cancel before then.

To change the card or wallet:

  1. Visit minecraftafk.com/dashboard/user/billing/.
  2. Click Update billing details.
  3. Click Change payment method. It opens Stripe, where you add or replace the card or wallet on file.

Failed payments

If a card or wallet renewal can't be collected, we retry it up to eight times over the next seven days. Your access carries on for 24 hours after the paid period ends. After that the plan is paused until a payment goes through, so your accounts can't connect. If nothing has been paid by the end of the seven days, the subscription ends.

While the plan is paused, Billing shows Payment failed at the top, greys out your plan details and marks the plan inactive. The sidebar shows Payment failed above your user menu. Click Update payment method on Billing, or Update payment in the sidebar, and change the card or wallet on file. That's what restores access.

The same spot in the sidebar shows the other payment states:

  • Payment due, with Pay now: a payment that needs you, such as a renewal that couldn't be collected, a crypto payment waiting for your transfer, or a first payment you haven't finished. Pay now opens the payment page in a new tab.
  • Processing payment: a payment is going through. Your plan updates by itself once it clears.
  • Payment clearing: a bank transfer is on its way. It can take up to three weeks, and you don't need to pay again.

Paying with crypto

At checkout, pick Cryptocurrency under Payment method. You pay on CoinGate's page, where you choose the coin: Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, Dogecoin, Litecoin and more. Send the full amount before the page times out, because a payment that's short or late doesn't go through, and nothing is charged for it. Your plan starts once the payment confirms on the blockchain, and you don't need to pay again while it does.

A crypto plan doesn't renew automatically, because a crypto payment can't be taken without you. Pay each period yourself:

  1. Visit minecraftafk.com/dashboard/user/billing/.
  2. Under Quick actions, click Pay next period now.
  3. Pay on CoinGate's page.

You lose no time by paying early: the new period is added after the one you already have. In the first half of a period, you're asked to confirm first with Pay your next period early? Once the next period is paid, the button is replaced by Your next period is paid until the following one opens. If an email reminds you to renew, its link opens the same page.

If the period runs out unpaid, access stops straight away. On a crypto plan you've cancelled, paying the next period resumes it, but only once that payment clears.

Switching between card and crypto

  1. Visit minecraftafk.com/dashboard/user/billing/ and click Update billing details.
  2. Under Payment method, pick the option you don't use now.
  3. Click Switch to crypto or Switch to card & wallets. Switching to a card asks you to add one.

The switch takes effect at your next renewal, and nothing is charged now. Until then, Billing shows Payment method switching with the date, and Cancel switch undoes it. A plan that's set to end can't switch: resume it first.

Invoices

Every payment gets an invoice. They're listed under Invoices at the bottom of Billing, each with its number, date and amount (VAT included), and a button that downloads it as a PDF. A refund shows as a Credit note, and the invoice it applies to is marked Refunded, or with the amount refunded.

The name and address on your invoices come from Update billing details. Edit them there and click Save billing details to use them on the next ones.

Account credit

Credit from the referral program pays for your own plan. It comes off your next payment automatically, a first payment included, so there's nothing to press.

  • At checkout, the Order summary shows it as Account credit. How much a payment can use depends on how you pay, so the summary is the figure to go by.
  • On Billing, Account credit from referrals and Next payment after credit show what your next renewal will come to. They don't appear on a gifted plan or a plan that's set to end: the credit simply stays on your account until you have a payment for it.
  • Credit can't pay for gifts, and it can't be transferred or paid out.

Legacy pricing

If you subscribed at an older price, Billing marks your plan Legacy pricing, and where today's price is higher, shows it struck through above yours. You keep your rate for as long as your plan stays active, even when our prices change. Plan changes and extra proxies are priced on your own rates too: the plan cards then show today's published prices, and the Order summary shows yours.

Two things are priced at today's rates instead:

  • A new subscription, if your plan ends.
  • Add-ons you remove and later add back.

Promo codes

At checkout, type a code into Promo code in the Order summary and click Apply. The summary then shows the code as applied, the discount, what you pay today under Due today, and the Recurring total your plan renews at afterwards.

  • One code at a time. A code you type replaces any other, including a seasonal sale's.
  • Sales apply themselves. During a sale, the banner at the top of the site names the code, and checkout fills it in for you.
  • Links carry codes. A referral link, a creator's link, or a link with a code in one of our emails saves the code in that browser for 30 days, and checkout fills it in.
  • Not on plan changes. Codes are for new purchases, so Update your plan has no code field.
  • Not every code fits every order. When one doesn't apply, the field says why: for example, it's for new customers only, it doesn't cover that plan, or you've used it already. Referral and creator codes can't be used for gifts.
