How do I get shards on DonutSMP?
Shards are DonutSMP's passive currency. You earn them just for staying connected, no matter where you are on the server, then spend them in /shardshop.
DonutSMP changed how shards work. You used to earn 1 shard per minute in the /afk lobbies. Now you earn 1 shard every 10 minutes anywhere on the server, so you can AFK your own farm and collect shards at the same time.
How to earn shards
- Connect to DonutSMP.
- Stay online anywhere on the server. The
/afklobbies are no longer required. - Don't disconnect. You earn 1 shard every 10 minutes for as long as your account stays connected.
How many shards you earn
The rate is flat, 6 per hour with no diminishing returns, so earnings scale directly with uptime:

Downtime is the only thing that lowers this. Disconnects, kicks, and server restarts all cut into earnings, and anti-AFK kicks are the biggest leak. See Anti-AFK.
What to spend shards on
