Freecam
The freecam takes the camera out of your bot's head in the POV and lets you fly it like spectator mode: through walls, into the ground and all around the bot. Flying it sends nothing to the bot, which stays where it is. It's the way to see what's behind a wall or under the floor, and to point at a spot for G, a schematic corner or a waypoint without walking the bot there.
What you need
- Every plan. No tier gates it. See What does each plan include?
- The fullscreen view. The freecam flies through the live world, which only fullscreen draws, so a card in the grid has none.
- The bot online, with physics on, as the live world needs. See What you need on the POV page.
- No macro running on the bot. See While a macro is running.
It works the same on Java and Bedrock bots.
Take the camera out
- Visit minecraftafk.com/dashboard/servers/.
- Click the server profile you wish to use.
- Click the POV page.
- Open the bot fullscreen, with the fullscreen button on its card.
- Press F6.
The camera sets off from the bot's eyes, and a label in the top left corner says you're in it: "Freecam (F6 to return, WASD to fly, wheel for speed)".
Put it back
Press F6 again. The camera goes back to the bot, in whichever view F5 had you in, facing the way you left it.
The camera doesn't follow the bot. If the bot walks off, press F6 twice to start again from its eyes.
The Game Menu (Esc) leaves the camera out, and closing the view puts it back: the POV always opens in the bot's head.
Fly it
- W, A, S and D fly forward, left, back and right. As with walking, the keys go by their place on the keyboard, so on AZERTY they're Z, Q, S and D.
- Space goes up and Shift goes down.
- The mouse turns the camera.
Flight is level, like creative flight: looking down and holding W flies across the ground, not into it. Only Space and Shift change your height.
Blocks don't stop the camera, and inside one you see out of it, as a spectator does, so from inside the ground the caves and tunnels around you show. Only the edge of the world the view holds around the bot stops it (see What it sees).
Speed
Scroll to set the speed: up is faster, down slower. Normal is 10 blocks a second, and each notch of the wheel changes it by a tenth of that, from a tenth of normal (1 block a second) up to four times (40 blocks a second).
Once it's off normal, the label says how fast, such as "Freecam at 2.5x (F6 to return, WASD to fly, wheel for speed)". The speed holds through F6 and back, until you close the view. While the camera is out the wheel only sets the speed, never the hotbar slot.
What it sees
- The live world, as the bot's own view shows it, from wherever the camera is.
- The bot, standing where it is, in its own skin, as in third person.
- Only what the bot holds. The view is built from the chunks the server sent the bot, and flying the camera loads no more. Chunks the bot never received are left out (see If the view looks wrong).
- Your HUD, still the bot's. The hand and held item aren't drawn, and View Bobbing doesn't sway the camera.
What the bot does
Flying and looking around send nothing, so the bot doesn't move or turn. If you were walking it, taking the camera out lets go of the keys and it stops.
A walk sent with G or Walk There carries on, and you can fly alongside to watch it. W, A, S and D don't stop it while the camera is out, since they fly the camera: press F6 first.
What works while it's out
These keep working, some of them from the camera:
- G aims from the camera, up to 160 blocks along where it looks, so you can fly over a spot the bot can't see and send it there. The distance under the crosshair is still counted from the bot. See Walk to where you aim.
- Set Pos 1 and Set Pos 2 mark the camera's own block, so a corner can be in mid-air or inside a wall. See Mark the corners.
- On the Waypoints... screen, where you are is the camera's block too, for Add Waypoint, Move Here and the distances in the list. See The Waypoints screen.
- M's map stays centred on the bot, and its arrow turns with the camera. See Minimap.
- P's tracers start from the middle of your view, coloured by each player's distance from the bot, and Z zooms as usual. See Player tracers, and the zoom under Camera and view tools.
- Tab, F1, F3 and F11 work as before, and F3's coordinates stay the bot's. F5 still steps through its views, for when you go back.
The keys that act on the bot are off, since your hands are on the flying keys: 1 to 9, Q, Ctrl + Q, F, E, T, /, and ↑ and ↓ for the previous or next bot.
The mouse buttons act from the bot, not the camera. The crosshair outlines nothing, so a left click only swings the bot's arm, and a right click (use) or middle click (pick block) acts from where the bot stands. Holding a button holds nothing. To hit, mine or place, go back with F6 first.
While a macro is running
While a macro is mid-run on the bot, the camera belongs to the bot, so you see where the macro looks. F6 is refused with "A macro is running. Take over to control this bot.", and a freecam that's out when a macro starts goes back into the bot's head, where it stays after the macro ends.
Press Take over next to the macro's name to end the pass and use the freecam again. See While a macro is running on the POV page.
On a phone or tablet
In the fullscreen view the freecam is the drone button (Freecam) along the top, lit while the camera is out. Tap it again to put the camera back.
- The Move stick flies it, and the Look stick or a drag on the view turns it.
- Hold Jump to go up and Sneak to go down. Sneak is a hold here rather than a switch, and turns off whenever the camera goes out or comes back.
- There's no label, and the speed can't be changed: it always flies at normal speed.
Unlike the keys, the buttons round the sticks still reach the bot: Items, Chat, Swap offhand and Drop one work as usual, and Hit and Use act from the bot like the mouse buttons.
